WT, this is truly an outstanding post. I doubt anyone else here could so seemlessly integrate the recent admission by Britain that the "armed mob" of Bloody Sunday never existed into a discussion of the disdain held by most for 1985.

As the descendent of an Irish ex-con and a (or is it "the"?) fan of a few '85 shows, hats off to you.

Hope the jet lag takes it easy on you.

Does this mean that U2 will also apologize for that "bloody awful" song? (and i actually like me some U2)

I like the fiddle playing on that song, and The Edge's mastery of his guitar effects on the War album.
